The toenail was injured years and years ago and I can't even remember how. As a result, the nail has started to curl together. I go every 3 months for him to trim it as his clippers are heavy duty. Brenda can only do so much each time.
For some reason, this time it started to in grow more and got infected. It was doing fine after I got home then several hours later I noticed blood spots on my bathroom floor. I looked at the bandage and it was about to come off. I took it off and it was so blood soaked that it was smooshing out every time I took a step. When I took it off, it was coming out so I kept blotting it until I could put a large band-aid on it.
This morning I noticed again blood spots on the floor, then took the band-aid off and it had soaked again. I soaked my foot in water until it seemed to have stopped, put some Neosporin on a cotton round and wrapped it in a large band-aid again. Hopefully it will eventually stop bleeding.
I was supposed to leave the original bandage on until Wednesday, then start to soak it in Epsom Salts. I can't get a pedicure for two weeks.
I think the reason it was bleeding so much is that since my heart attack I am now on a blood thinner. I haven't called the doctor yet, but if the bleeding doesn't stop, I will. I don't want to drive until it does. It's my right foot.
