I was never a fan of hers even though she was big during my teen and early 20s years. I just didn't care for her voice although I do remember singing to her songs while driving in the car.

Her career abruptly stopped, and it turns out later that she'd been raped. Here's a little snippet of an article I found:

"MINEOLA, LI., Nov. 8—Connie Francis, the singer, was raped at knife‐point early this morning in her room at the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge in Westbury after having sung at the Westbury Music Fair, the Nassau County police reported."

On You Tube the big thing with young girls is to sing and dance to her Pretty Little Baby. There is a video of her enjoying the newfound revival of that song and 15 days later she passed away. So sad. Rest in peace, Connie Francis. You were a part of my youth.
