My Dad didn't BBQ either, but my son and his son (Billy) both love to do the grill. Ours is a grill and a smoker. My favorite was smoked rockfish. I don't care much for grilled meat, but I love grilled corn on a cob. And he makes tinfoil potatoes of the wee red taters with onion.

But our picnics were cold fried chicken, potato salad, jello salads and chips with either hot dogs or burgers as the hot part.
