I think we come from the same stock, Pattie. I take two slices of buttered bread, top them with sliced American cheese and sliced tomatoes. I then toast them in my toaster oven for lunch or a light dinner. Salt and pepper them and mmm mmm good.

Also, lettuce, tomato and mayo is a very tasty salad.

I don't know if I said this before or not, but at my California house I planted a beefsteak tomato, and it kept producing lots of delicious tomatoes every year for about three years. Then, one year, when it had gone kind of dormant, my gardener pulled it up. I felt so bad, but it did look like it had died although I know it had a couple more years left in it. I can't grow anything here in this heat.
