Two. One was a short gruff guy who taught civics; he was known to manhandle the boys who gave him trouble. Knocked one cold with a rabbit chop to the neck. Bad for the teacher--that kid was the mayor's son. Teacher was fired.
The other one was an art teacher who just wasn't anyone's cup of tea. He'd formerly been a prison guard. He only lasted one semester.
