Re: Tell us something your Grandma
Grandma Susie was from parents who came from Maryland. She had many brothers and sisters. She was an excellent craft lady; quilting, applique, crochet. She gave birth to 5 children. She was a spunky short lady who cooked German foods that melted in your mouth. She was fooled when my dad took us home to Utah, sent me to Trick or treat at her place. She gave me coins, didn't think anyone would call at her back apartment. As I turned to go, my Dad began picking his banjo..she stopped, turned and ran to him, cussing him and threw her arms around him! (she'd not seen him for 9 years.) Grandma Janet (Or Jennet, as most called her--) was Mom's mother and I got to know her more, as we lived close by. She quilted and crocheted and tatted and was a cook. She made honey cookies and gave them to everyone who wanted them. She looked like she might have had an indigenous ancestor. She wasn't very tall, either. I think I outgrew her height at 12.
