With Veterans Day on the horizon do you think our Armed Forces do better because they choose to join or are those that were drafted into service make better protectors of our freedoms?

I know,it is a dumb question isn't it.I had am uncle that was in the Navy then after he got out he joined the Army.He liked the service better than he thought he would.
