I made a Walmart run and hung onto the shopping cart for dear life.I planned my shopping to be fast and methodical. The store was a mess.I realized what was happening when I was in what used to be the bread aisle.People were standing around as if in a daze.No bread. It hit me that the store was being rearranged. There went my well thought out plans.
I didn't go to the fresh and frozen meats. Some things like cinnamon applesauce were on shelves out of my reach.I had my cane and grabbed it to slide the applesauce out to the edge of the shelf and I heard a voice asking me to allow him to help.An angel disguised as a working man easily reached up and retrieved what I wanted. He quickly moved on after I thanked him so much.
No cornmeal, just a big empty space.Just the basics from grocery aisles and some water.Luckily the pet foods were relocated and close by.Ms.Kitty is set to eat for awhile.Litter can wait until my niece can get it.I didn't feel up to lifting it.Didn't make it any farther. The crew doing the rearrangements were very nice and could give directions when asked where certain products had been moved.
I heard a couple of elderly women being rude when they couldn't find items like flour.I thought to myself "good luck".
Anyway Made my way slowly to a checkout and didn't have to stand and wait in line.Got a nice cashier and then found an empty bench to rest before heading outside to my car.Tons of pain but finally got home and went right in to my bed to rest again before even trying to unload my goods.Bananas and greens won't spoil.
I will try delivery next time maybe.MA makes it sound so easy and convenient.Songbird can clean my fridge from a chair.
Hope I eventually adapt to changes as well as Lucie. Really Really hope Judith is safe and okay.
