It is so sad to know that all that area will be hit again.

My first move to Cocoa Beach, Florida (on the Atlantic side) was in 1975. My husband was working on the Viking mission to Mars. It was summertime so I and the kids joined him. We got to see the launch.

When I first got there, I was reading the paper and on the front page was "What to Do In Case Of A Hurricane." Really, really scared me. We didn't get one, but I was always on guard.

In 1982, we were in Panama City, on the Gulf side. Right after I came back to California, there was a hurricane that hit the area where we lived. I felt so fortunate to have gotten the heck out of there when we did.
