I was ready to go out the door and bent over to reach an electric outlet.I was told awhile back something about not liking to walk into a dark house. So just to pacify someone I put strands of clear lights in a large fishbowl.Sitting on the floor it did a great job of illuminating the path into the living room more than the action activated nightlight beside the door.Besides it was pretty also.
There is a roll top desk on the side of the door. The entry way is wide and not cramped. The outlet to plug in the lights is behind the desk and I need to bend down slightly to reach into the desk opening to get to the plug.
Well that is what I did just as I had several times before. As I raised up my feet flew out from beneath me.That is the only way to explain it
Anyway I felt like I was flying through the air.My head struck a built-in bookcase and my shoulders hit the bottom shelf. Strangely I landed on the floor like someone had body slammed me.My back torso to my legs landed squarely flat on the hardwood floor. It was a very weird feeling but I was completely level.
It took some doing to get upright.Remember my left ankle is full of metal and my right knee is far from being normal.I was determined to get up on my own ( more at another time about how).
This was Monday evening. The next day was an "oh my goodness" type of day.So sore and hurting.I didn't go to the ER because I could walk and I figured that meant my hip wasn't broken. So here it was Wednesday and I had lab work to get done for an appointment next week.I asked the employes if it would be better to go to Urgent Care or the ER.
I didn't do either.I went home and went to bed.Not as sore now and I can't see if I have bruises. So if each day I feel better I am just resting and if I get worse then I will go to for x-rays.
Enough said...that is why I made the comment about feet flying out from under you to the comments about feet.I'm sorry if it seemed sarcastic.
