I must have slept wrong or something because I had such a lower back strain this morning that as soon as I could I got an ice pack to lie on for a while before I got dressed. It does feel better, but this now throws out my plans for today.
I was going to vacuum my room and mop the kitchen floor. I don't think I'd better try that for a couple more days.
I know I'm not the only one here with back problems. Mine stems from taking a fall and landing on my tailbone when I was in the 5th grade. I was playing hopscotch on the blacktop and water from the nearby sprinklers flowed on painted hopscotch. I did one of those falls you'd see in cartoons when someone would slip on a banana peel. Remember those? I could barely walk for about a week after.
I saw an X-Ray of my tailbone as an adult and it showed an indentation, like it had been pushed in. I think they called it a break although it didn't look broken, just pushed in. I've had trouble all my life even though I've learned to adjust to it. I know how to bend, how to turn, how to lift, etc. Sometimes, though, like this morning, I must just sleep wrong or something without knowing it and leave my lower back so strained I know better than to do anything to make it worse - like mop.
As a result of the injury so many years ago, arthritis has set in the spine. This is why I can't walk or stand for any length of time. The arthritis affects nerves that go to my hips and legs and causes my back muscles to tense up. It's been such a bother, but I am thankful that I still can walk, stand and do other things even if it is for a short time without any aids. I am very grateful for that.
Thanks for listening and I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
