I have my studio, bed room upstairs and spare room cut off. The rest of the house needs heat because they have pipes in it or I use the room. I have small space heaters for under sinks and to aim at toilets. Got to watch it with space heaters. They will kick off something and someone will need to go into the basement and flip a switch (I can't do the steps). We don't have fuses, we flip a switch.

Winter time is a worry.

Did I tell you that Kathy took hb's phone away now? He is completely isolated from everyone including his own brother. Hb is Kathy's captive. She keeps him from everyone but herself. Then Kathy relented and said I get 2 phone calls a day of 20 minutes a day and only on the nursing homes phone. A nurse will stand by and monitor or if understaffed they will bring a timer, like an oven timer that dings to time our calls. Of course nurse is there to listen and grab the phone away before our time is up cheating us out of minutes. That has happened several times. Rules for me but not Kathy.

That got her big, fat A-- reported to the Health Dept. for isolation. Isolation is a big no-no.

I touched based the other day with a dear, old friend. She worked in administration for a Nursing home for many years. Her daughter works in the same job in another home today. She said nursing homes live in fear of the Health dept because that is who licenses the homes. They will go there unannounced and inspect everything. They get points off for every infraction and too many and they lose their license. I gave them a whole lot of things to investigate. We will see what happens there.
