I swear she is the cruelest person I've ever come across in my life. Kathy has taken away Hb's phone. She said we were talking too much. Why? Because she can. That has left us both isolated and alone. He cannot call his brother or me. I cannot reach him at all. That was Sunday. I called our local ombudsmen and they sent an investigator out to interview me. I thought it went well. She kept telling me I had rights, blah blah blah.

A day later BIL tells me that Kathy had decided to allow us 2 phone calls a day for 20 minutes. The hospital will call me and we can talk on a hospital phone. I've been waiting since Monday for a phone call. BIL is no help. He Will not help me get Hb a new phone. I swear he is smitten with Kathy and thinks she can do no wrong. He won't take me in to talk to lawyer. I called Ombudsmen again and she politely blew me off saying I get 2 phone calls a day and to wait for them to call. Today will be FIVE days. So much for having rights.

Is this how it ends for older people? Stuck alone, disabled, having no contact with a husband of 40 years and no one to help? I am out of ideas. Any suggestions?
