I don't know what to do about this. I think he is being neglected but it's such an ordeal to report it, get interviewed, have evidence, file things, have someone mince through your every word, etc. And it seems like the authorities don't really want to do anything. Everyone has already given up.

I've been wondering about some things, like why I am not being told anything about Hb's health, his treatment etc. even though I am his wife of 39 years and next of kin. I called the nursing home, couldn't get a living person, then emailed and got NO response at all. I tried again the next day and then the next. Nothing but silence. I think they are personally ignoring me. What kind of business, especially a health care business would do that?

Then I had a hunch. I googled "can Power of Attorney cut off all medical and health information of the principle (Hb) to the community spouse (me)? And "can a Power or Attorney demand a nursing home not release information regarding it's principal to the community spouse?"

The answer to both questions is YES! Kathy did this. I have no doubt. Can you believe it! Look it up yourself. So what if you're next of kin. Big deal! I can't believe this is legal.
