This is an old recipe. I saw a program on TV that said old recipes like this were common years ago when the woman of the house cooked. Then frozen foods like waffles and other convenience foods took over. Everyone used to know how to make the "old" foods and didn't bother writing Them down. Now they are being forgotten.
