Tomorrow morning we go to the lawyer to sign my new POA and new will. Kathy will no longer be my POA and hopefully will be out of my life. I did not want to leave Kathy anything in my will but attorney advised to leave her something or she could contest it. She is right and as much as I hate to reward Kathy for taking my dogs and taking our life savings and leaving me penniless, I can see lawyers point.

After bills are paid and cremation is covered by asset money, I ended up giving Kathy 5% of my assets, the same as my niece and nephew who are helping out now. Gkids (9), and sons (2) of niece and nephew get 2% each.

I find this confusing because we don't know the value of the house.

I also gave $5000 to the friend who has my dogs. I wanted to give more but they thought that was enough because of some complicated reason I didn't understand about how money is divided up from assets and because of tax reasons that she may have to pay depending on how much money I give her.

I also gave &1000 to PBS, Planned Parenthood, the art guild I belong to and two no-kill rescues. BIL gets the rest.

That's where we are now. I will know more tomorrow.
