Flo that's good news that you now own your house, at least you could sell it in order to have money to live off from and money to put away in case you end up in assisted living in the future. As you saw, your husbands nursing home bill is high but I gotta say that it's on the cheap end for a nursing home if you lived around here. Nursing homes cost between $18,000 & $20,000 a month around my area.

Unless you absolutely have to, don't take out a reverse loan because the loan company will ask for full payment plus interest if you move out of your house and into a nursing home, the interest can be quite high, to the point that you would get no money from the sale of your house.
