Kathy seriously needs therapy.

All this because she still at her age can't handle the fact her parents divorced decades ago and her father moved on and remarried. Her mother getting involved with the new agey woo woo stuff sounds like emotional health issues run in the maternal side of Kathy's family since that new agey stuff attracts flakey people with a not so firm grip on reality.
