Flo we have a food pantry in town that collects food that has a past "sell" date on them from grocery stores, plus they get the out of date prepackage food from restaurants, along with things like left over chicken from Popeye's or sandwiches that didn't sell the day before at Panera. Anyway that food shelf is open to everybody, but if they have left overs which they do quite often like the wilted lettuce or veggies that have gone bad, then whatever is leftover goes to a local pig farm.

That food shelf is actually pretty nice because they take all of the food that grocery stores and restaurants would have to throw away and they are open daily so anybody in need can grab whatever.

I only been there once and I need to remind myself to go more often, anyway the time I went was because they advertised on facebook that they had a large amount of strawberries and they were asking people to come grab a flat of them, which I did and then I cleaned them and froze them, I had strawberries for months.
