Getting half of what your husband gets is normal and yes if there's not a huge difference between husband and wives SS, it doesn't add up to a lot but $300 should pay for at least food so that you can use your SS to pay bills.

I have no idea about pensions and whether you can get any of his pension probably depends upon whether your husband signed over the rights to handle his money to Kathy.

If your husband is on medicaid and he still has control over his money then medicaid does allow some of the pension money to go to you and you would talk to medicaid about that but first you need to know whether Kathy has legal control over your husbands money.
