A couple neighbors in the last apartment I was in got M on W and they said the same about being blah and having to season them some. M on W only serve people 4 days a week and never on weekends or holidays. I'm not sure if they get to double up on a meal so that they have 5 days worth of meals because like you, around here they are small servings, not enough for a next day meal.

At least you're not having to do the cooking and your hubby is complaining about somebody elses food
