are your feet always covered for walking indoors?

Living in a warm climate, finding a slipper that doesn't make my feet sweat isn't easy. I end up in socks but need cushion.

I need a little padding to absorb that heel shock.
I found several like that but they are more like a shoe with a thicker sole, harder to walk on carpet
