Here if you go to an orthopedist they get you mentally prepared. They look at it as a sort of amputation. They are cutting from below the knee to above the knee and replacing the entire knee. My friend Rose said as freaked out as she was, that thinking helped her mentally deal with it.

That said, she had a tough recovery and said she will not go through it again with the other knee.
