I think anywhere there is a concentration of cars/industry and people...the air is going to suffer and cause people breathing issues, like the L.A. area.
Luckily I'm far removed from that kind of traffic but I live near big canyons where there is lots of weeds.

A while back I saw a overhead pic of China...they've got some nasty smog and a lot of the populations smokes
