It's ridiculous. There is no human contact anymore. You're either on hold forever or it's "we'll call you back".

When you are sick, you want to talk to a human. If you are old, you don't like this automated stuff. That's a huge chunk of their patients who don't like how things are done now. You mean these places can't find someone to man the phones? You don't need an advanced degree to decide if things are urgent and need a fast appointment or if it can wait a day or two. I don't know anyone who is happy with the healthcare in this country. And it looks like we are going to be getting MORE unhappy in the future.
