Lucie I'm on the 4th floor of a 55+ building where most are over 70 and even though we have asked our manager to have the fire department come and talk to us about what to do if there's a fire, she hasn't.

The fire department normally doesn't have a problem coming out to senior living apartments to let them know what to do.

When the alarm goes off the elevator stops working and fire doors slam shut on each floor. I'm capable of getting down the steps but there are quite a few that can't use the steps and others that wouldn't be able to open the fire door to go down the steps closest to them, so it would just be nice if we knew what to do.
