Servings: This recipe for classic chocolate chip cookies makes 12 cookies
1 Half Stick (1/4 cup) Land O LakesŪ Butter, softened
2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 large Land O LakesŪ Egg (yolk only)
1 /2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 /2 cup (63 grams) all-purpose flour
1 /4 teaspoon baking soda
1 /4 teaspoon salt
1 /2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Heat oven or toaster oven to 350°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Using hand mixer, beat butter and sugars together in small bowl until creamy. Add egg yolk and vanilla; beat until well mixed.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in another small bowl. Add flour mixture and chocolate chips to butter mixture. Using spatula, stir by hand until combined.
Spoon dough into 12 rounded dough balls; space evenly on prepared baking sheet.
Bake 9-11 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Let cookies rest on baking sheet 1 minute before transferring to wire rack to cool.
