We had an incident with Aiden yesterday. Hb had the dogs out in the yard top potty. When they came in Aiden was sneezing and snorting. Bostons snort, sneeze, snore, it's part of being a Boston Terrier. I asked Hb what was she doing out there. He said, she ate some grass. I didn't think anything of it and she seemed to settle as the day went on. Hb said she was restless all night and was snorting a lot.
When I came downstairs in the morning I could see she wasn't feeling well and was distressed. We were discussing whether to take her to the vet, who is horrendously expensive, and she started violently sneezing. I went up to her and grabbed her and something seemed to be coming out of her nose. I grabbed it and pulled and out comes an incredibly long piece of grass. Like 4 inches long. How did she sniff that up her nose? She got all wiggly and happy, probably happy to be rid of that grass. She seems fine after that. I hope she doesn't have anything else stuck up her nose.
In the 40+ years of having all kinds of dogs I never had an experience like that. Bostons sometimes have very small nostrils and may need an operation to widen their nostrils because they are so tiny and may interfere with breathing. Aiden's nostrils are just slits and her nose to her head is maybe 3/4 of an inch. I can't believe that long piece of grass got up those tiny nostrils and then stayed there overnight. I will be sure to be watching this from now on.
Supper tonight will be chicken thighs. I must look for a recipe. We'll also have some kind of potato and a Caesar salad.
Everyone enjoy your Wednesday. Stay well.
