Ingredients
Vegetables: 1 head of fresh broccoli and 1 head of cauliflower, chopped into bite-sized pieces.
Mix-ins: ½ cup of diced red onion,
½ cup of dried cranberries or raisins,
and ¾ cup of sunflower seeds.
Savory Toppings: 6-12 slices of cooked, crumbled bacon and/or 1 cup of cubed cheddar cheese.
Sweet Creamy Dressing: 1 cup mayonnaise (or half mayo/half sour cream), ¼ cup white sugar, and 1–2 tablespoons of vinegar (white or apple cider).
Instructions
Prep the Veggies: Wash and finely chop the broccoli and cauliflower florets so they are easy to eat in a single bite.
Combine: In a large mixing bowl, toss together the chopped broccoli, cauliflower, red onion, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, and bacon.
Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Toss and Chill: Pour the dressing over the salad and stir until evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
