Ingredients
For the Meat Layer:
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup cooked bacon, chopped
1 cup ketchup (or ½ ketchup + ½ barbecue sauce for extra flavor)
2 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt & pepper, to taste
For the Cheese Mixture:
2 cups ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
1 large egg
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
For Assembly:
9 lasagna noodles (cooked according to package instructions)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Extra bacon bits for topping
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
Step 1 – Prepare the Meat Filling
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, cook ground beef with onion until browned.
Add garlic, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside.
Step 2 – Make the Cheese Layer
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, mozzarella, and Italian seasoning. Mix until smooth.
Step 3 – Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Spread a thin layer of meat mixture in the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Add a layer of cooked lasagna noodles, followed by the cheese mixture, more meat mixture, and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese.
Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with meat mixture and cheddar cheese on top.
Sprinkle cooked bacon bits evenly over the top.
Step 4 – Bake
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 5 – Serve
Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley and enjoy hot.
