A fun, festive, and easy-to-make treat for your Christmas celebrations!
Ingredients:
* 16 streaky smoked bacon slices 🥓
* 2 sheets of ready-made puff pastry
* 1 egg (beaten, for brushing)
* Maple syrup (for brushing and serving)
* Wooden skewers
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven/Air Fryer: Preheat to 180°C (350°F).
2. Prepare the Bacon: Add 3 tbsp of maple syrup to the bacon slices in a bowl for a sweet and smoky flavor.
3. Layer the Puff Pastry: Lay one sheet of puff pastry flat. Arrange the maple-glazed bacon in rows across the pastry. Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top, gently pressing it down.
4. Cut Into Strips: Use a sharp knife to cut the layered pastry and bacon into long strips.
5. Shape the Trees: Thread each strip onto a wooden skewer, folding or twisting it into a Christmas tree shape.
6. Prepare for Baking: Place the skewered trees on a parchment-lined baking tray. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
7. Bake or Air Fry: Cook in the oven or air fryer for 10-15 minutes at 180°C until puffed and golden brown.
8. Serve: Drizzle with extra maple syrup and enjoy warm!
