Ingredients:
- 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, cooked rice, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
5. In a large baking dish, layer half of the chopped cabbage on the bottom. Spread the beef mixture over the cabbage, then top with the remaining cabbage.
6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
