Ingredients:
• 6 large carrots
• 2 tbs EVOO
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 tbs garlic powder or 6 garlic cloves -minced
• 1 tbs onion powder
• 1/2 tbs paprika
• optional: 1 c. parmesan cheese -shredded
Method:
• Peal and cut the carrots into fry-like strips.
• Toss with olive oil, salt, garlic, onion, and paprika.
• (Optional) Mix in shredded parmesan for extra crispiness.
• Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet.
• Bake for 30-40 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
Air Fryer Carrot Fries
Ingredients
4 medium size whole carrots
1 tablespoon avocado oil
1 tablespoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons shredded parmesan cheese – optional for serving
1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley – optional for serving
Instructions
Peel and cut the carrots. This is very easy to do. Use a vegetable peeler to peel the carrots, then slice off the ends. If the carrots are longer then slice them in half and then cut them into ¼-inch thick carrot sticks. Expert tip: Thinner-cut fries will get crispier and take less time to cook.
Season the fries. In a small bowl combine the garlic powder with the salt and pepper. Drizzle the fries with avocado oil, toss, and then season them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and toss to coat them all in the seasoning.
Cook. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F. Once it is ready, spray the basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the carrot fries into the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook them for 8-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
Garnish and serve. Once the carrot fries are done, let them cool for a minute then plate them and garnish them with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and parsley.
