This is a classic and nostalgic party appetizer for good reason! So easy to make and they’ll fly off the platter.
* ~30-36 Club crackers, or other rectangular buttery crackers
* 10 to 12 center-cut bacon slices, cut into 3 to 3 1/2-in. pieces (about the size of the cracker - I cut the slices into thirds)
* 3 tablespoonspure maple syrup, divided
* Ground Black Pepper or Red Pepper Flakes, optional
1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
2. Line a sheet pan with foil and place a wire rack on top
3. Arrange the crackers on the wire rack. Top each cracker with a piece of bacon.
4. Place about 2 tbs of the maple syrup in a bowl and brush the bacon with the syrup.
5. Bake for about 40-45 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the crackers are golden.
6. Remove from oven and brush with the reserved 1 tbs of maple syrup. I like to sprinkle with ground black pepper, but you can also use red pepper flakes if you like spice.
7. Serve warm and enjoy!
*Many recipes call for a higher temp, but I find lower and slower works better to crisp up the bacon while also not burning the crackers.
