Here’s the full recipe (one loaf):⏬
•1 and 1/8 cup warm water
•2 and 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
•2 tbsp sugar (or substitute honey)
•1/2 tbsp salt (I use sea salt or Himalayan salt)
•2 tbsp vegetable oil (I use olive oil or avocado oil)
•2-3 cups organic unbleached AP flour*
*Note on flour: I’ve made this recipe with the CostCo flour AND King Arthur, both with good results. Whatever flour you use, I recommend organic unbleached AP.☺️
1) Whisk together water, yeast, and sugar in a large mixing bowl for 1-2 mins. Let it sit and bloom for 5-10 mins.
2) Stir in salt and oil. Mix in flour 1 cup at a time. I like to use a Danish dough whisk. Create a shaggy dough that’s not too wet and not too dry.
3) Knead the dough while it’s in the bowl for a moment or so. Then dump onto lightly floured surface and continue kneading. Add bits of flour as needed until a smooth dough ball forms. This takes me around 5 mins of kneading and working with the dough.
4) Lightly grease or oil the mixing bowl, put dough ball in bowl, cover with towel, let it rest and rise for about an hour.
5) Dump dough onto lightly floured surface and knead for a moment or so. Shape into a loaf. Put into lightly greased or oiled bread pan. I use cast iron! Cover with towel, let it rest and rise for about an hour.
6) Preheat oven to 375, then bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes. Allow the bread to cool before slicing and enjoying!
