Asparagus Tart
This is a super yummy Asparagus Tart I made the other night! It is quite simple… but so, so delicious! Here is the recipe!
Ingredients ~
1 Puff Pastry sheet
2 Boursin Shallot and Chive Cheese
Asparagus halved
Fresh ground Sea Salt and pepper to taste
Olive Oil
Egg Wash
Instructions ~
1. Lay a sheet of puff pastry on a lipped cookie sheet over parchment paper. I don’t recommend using the parchment the puff pastry comes on because it browns too much in the oven and disintegrates when it comes out. I use a fresh piece of parchment every time I bake from a bakers roll.
2. Roll all four edges of the pastry over to make a crust.
3. Using a fork poke holes in the bottom of the crust.
4. Brush olive oil over just the bottom
5. Crumble the Boursin Cheese to cover the whole bottom.
6. Cut each piece of asparagus in half and place half way… to the middle going all the way up. Do the same on the other side. (See photo to see the pattern I used)
7. Brush the outside crust in an egg wash. (That is one egg with approximately one tablespoon of water added. Whisk together with a fork.)
8. Brush the top of asparagus with olive oil.
9. Sprinkle the top with salt and pepper to taste.
10. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes.
Be sure to check after about 20 minutes as all ovens are different. In my oven I need to go about 30 minutes, because it’s older. You may have an oven that cooks more efficiently so be sure to check sooner than later.
This tart is so, so yummy! It’s perfect for a party! It’s kind of addicting.
