Bring a little of the sweets of Valentines Day to a dark chocolate bark. This is such a pretty hostess gift or just a sweet treat to send over to a friend.
INGREDIENTS
6 large bars of dark chocolate
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup or more of Valentines candy. ( candy hearts, cherry jellies and dark chocolate M&M’s)
This recipe is endless with what you can add to your bark. Almonds, dried cherries, freeze dried gogi berries, pretzels or smashed popcorn are just a few examples of other barks you can make.
DIRECTIONS
Using a cookie tray that has sides, place a sheet of wax paper to cover the bottom of the tray. Take all the chocolate and melt in a double boiler or microwave. With a spatula pour chocolate onto the wax paper and cover the whole area. With your spatula get out every last drop of chocolate. Sprinkle the candy over the chocolate. Place tray in the refrigerator until firm. Approximately 30 minutes. Remove from the fridge and break apart with your hands into bite size pieces. Store in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer. Now you have something homemade for Valentines Day.
