Wendy, it is illigal here as well. But, I live in a city. Sass lives in the country so it is legal
there. Some people fire their guns into the ground rather than into the air. It's all about making noise to celebrate the New Year and in some areas the firecrackers/fireworks go off for hours. I hate that, too. The casinos here will be putting on a big fireworks display downtown. I'll watch it on TV if we're still up.
