Fiat Ducato 2.3D 2013 - What does this code mean? P008978 #

Year of Manufacture: 2013
Engine Size and Code: 2.3d FIAE348ID
( Optional) Fault Codes: P008978

can any one explain this code to me please ,
P008978 FUEL HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM- ALIGNMENT OR ADJUSTMENT INCORRECT,

the vehicle emits clouds of black smoke, its only done 30k miles,

HI

P0089 relates to fuel pressure regulation issue, presumably the 78 is a sub code as to type of fault but not familiar with it

What are you reading it with ?

Can you monitor desired & actual rail pressure for clues.

Had high fuel pressure faults logged on Iveco (same engine) due to in tank pump failing & fuel filters blocked.
