Hi,
Customer just bought this vehicle and within 2 days of ownership he slowed down to turn a corner and the engine sputtered and died! It will restart and run incredibly rough and will not rev. It will sometimes run for 3 seconds and sometimes much longer but never revs. When running it smokes heavily with unburnt fuel. Given symptom we are thinking a chain has jumped and so took a cam crank waveform (directly at ECU)
There does not appear to be any significant relationship positioning of the two signals but don't have a known good one to compare with unfortunately and so wondered if anyone on here had one we could compare with?
Have checked measuring blocks for fuel pressure and have ruled out a restriction in the intake or exhaust. Also have performed a relative compression check which showed almost perfectly uniform current humps. Is there a VCDS measuring block which we don't know about that could give us some insight into state of timing?
