Hi FP55VKK ford focus 1.8 DI
This is a non runner, cut out at traffic lights not to restart. Car been laid up for a couple of years, new battery started and ran fine for about 100 miles.
Got a few conflicting codes with Delphi & old SP
Delphi gives U0105 can communication, C13c1 unknown, P0502 VSS, P1610 interactive programming code- replace module (used with p1615/17/19/20)
SP gives U0105 can coms FIPM and P0216 injector timing control
Leaning towards pump control module fault, but expensive so need to be sure.
Testing the 6 wires to pump , I have 12v (thick green & yellow) which goes to 12v when ign turned on and drops to 2 v after couple of seconds ( not sure this is correct but seems to be relays being controlled causing drop rather than wire or relay fualt) also have ground wire which tests OK In addition i have 2 can com wires both showing a signal from PCM and on the remaining two wires i have a 12v constant and control wire that pulses when cranked.
I will add wire colours / pin numbers later.
to me the codes don't seem typical of pump faults i have seen on ford transit
Hi Aidan the pump timing code is symptomatic of a pump fault, if that helps. Of course, there is always a possibility the chain has moved (bottom pulley pin sheared)...
