Peugeot 308 SW 2.0 HDi HRH 2009 - Cutting out problem #

Year of Manufacture *: 2009
Engine Size and Code *: 2.0 HRH
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Diabox

Hi all have not been on here since Jan 2013 lost my password but was going through emails and there is was.Anyway lost my Garage 3 years ago but still working on cars as a mobile.308SW 2.0 HDi wifes car bought last summer cuts out but would start again after a few minutes this happened a lot of times but no pattern hours to weeks Diagox Global test no faults at all tested several times lately is has been worse had to tow it home but always started the next day till last week flattened the battery trying to start it took it off and charged overnight refitted then started then yesterday it would not start so towed it home again charged battery then started again. So far I have unplugged the 3 plugs on the fuse box all connectios nice and bright have checked all the fuses for tightness on the plate on top of the battery. When it stops it is just like the ignition has been turned off. Any help please. Iain

Hi Iain,
It is not clear from what you say but I presume it is cranking ok. The first question is what is happening in live data, in particular what is the rail pressure and have you scoped the crank sensor when it doesn't start?

Sorry yes it does crank but when it has stopped when wife driving she does not have my Diagnostic kit with her.Today I wanted to check it but now have a different problem no feed to diagnostic socket Fuse 9 10amp in under bonnet fusebox has 12v both sides of fuse or is this the wron fuse.

Im also showing fuse number two 15amp in number 2 relay box engine compartment for diag. connector.

Hi Iain,
Do you have a reg or chassis number for this vehicle please ?

Have you actually pulled the fuse or just tested either side of it ?

Sorted out the scanner issue found a fuse missing on top of the battery probably fell out when changing the battery. I removed and cleaned the crank sensor it was swimming in oil, only done a few short trips so far no cutting out I will keep you posted
