Ford Transit 2.2 CYRB 2012 - Code P034162 Cam signal compare fault - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2012
Engine Size and Code *: 2.2 CYRB
( Optional ) Scanner Used: KTS570
( Optional) Fault Codes: P034162

Hi Guys, the transit goes into limp mode and the engine light is on. P034162 camshaft position sensor signal compare fault code is stored.
Cam sensor already replaced prior to us seeing the vehicle, made no difference. We have checked cam timing - all ok, checked crank sensor signal - ok but have replaced with genuine one anyway - no difference. Have scoped both signals both at sensors and ecu plug - seem ok.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Have you compared the cam/crank signals to a known good one !

I found this whilst lookin up your code. Might be useful for others too.

Hi Dave
No I haven't got one to compare it to.
Thanks for the info, I will have a look at it.
The cam and crank patterns look good compared to other vehicles that I have tested.
The only other time that I have come across this code, it was the crank pulley keyway worn allowing the cam timing to go out so I was surprised this timing was ok.

FIXED
Hi guys, all sorted.
The Transit had a recent clutch done by another garage and the bracket which holds the crank sensor had moved when the gearbox was refitted.
Took the timing cover off and timed up the chain, cams etc and adjusted crank sensor bracket so rear timing pin would locate correctly.
Now all ok
