Ford Transit 2.4 2000 - Misfire / smoke when cold #
Posted by Keith Brown on August 16, 2017, 5:05 pm history with this one, chain jumped teeth ,pushed threads on head ,new head & chain, six months previous was a non starter, and required new fuel pump! truck starts first time on the button every time,if you drive straight off, 2nd gear it dies,re starts & away for the rest of the day!. no codes stored,my immediate thought was air ingress,so tested for decay on injector leak offs & all plumbing, plumbed a separate tank & return straight to pump,no joy looking in live data everything is normal apart from injector offsets 3 cylinders are "trimming" at idle but cylinder A is stuck at 0 ,ive cracked all injector pipes & get a response from the 3 but nothing at cylinder A,the pump came from a well known factor! so suspected the quality, requested a replacement, received a Lucas unit fitted but cylinder A is still stuck at 0,swapped 1 & 4 injectors still stuck at 0!out of ideas now,is cylinder A used as a baseline for the others?havnt got another transit to compare with.
