Good evening gents,
Currently have an X5 in with fuel supply issues and I'm just trying to get an little bit more of an understanding on how the system work.
First off I had a noisy pre supply pump that is under the vehicle.
This pump has been replaced and the pre supply pump is sounding a lot healthier and pressure has increased (although not to spec)
Further investigation led me to the intank pump where I found the gauze was heavily contaminated so this was cleaned and refitted
Now my main query is does the intank pump actually feed the pre supply pump through the outlet on top of the ns sender unit ? As I'm getting no fuel out of it.
No, Supply is from the o/s, return goes to n/s for jet pump activation.
