Renault Traffic 2.0 M9R 2007 - Non start, no coms with ECU #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: 2000 m9r
( Optional ) Scanner Used: snap on
( Optional) Fault Codes: no comms

Looking for some help....

I have a Renault traffic m9r 2 litre in. non start and no comms with ecu.

Found ecu control relay to be not working, so I have replaced. worked fine for two days and this morning failed to start.

Relay still working fine.

I suspect its a wiring damage (somewhere)and wondered if anyone has had experienced this before.

Hi Keith

These suffer from harness issues in multiple places but mainly around the gearbox and or ECU area, you'll need to strip back the harness to examine all the wires closely.

A failed injector can also cause a non start.

I also have the immobiliser light on (static)with ignition on .

Have you checked the key reader is seeing the key ?
Can you get it on a better code reader ?

I have tried a reader from a working van and found the same symptoms.

Once I replaced the ecu relay on Friday the van started and I could read the codes.

I did ask if you had tested the key reader NOT swapped it !!

What about getting it on CLIP ?

But I bet the immo light was not on at the time !

Hi
have you check the feeds & earths are present & load tested them to & from the relay to the ecu?
i've had one with a broken wire for the engine control relay around the gearbox as Antony posted

theres a control unit under dash pod that gets "coffee" damage from spilt drinks from cup holder
seen a couple with rotten wires there,giving no comms,no start, hth
