VW Golf Mk5 1.9 BKC 2005 - Non start - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005
Engine Size and Code *: 1900 bkc
( Optional ) Scanner Used: vag-com
( Optional) Fault Codes: none

Non start, but if given a sniff of brake cleaner will run for hours, driven or idling then will cut out and not start until given another small sniff.
The intank fuel pump pressure measured pre fuel filter is 6-8 psi: Basic question is: is that enough?, I cant seem to find the spec of what it should be, Thanks, Neil

Looks good. Min. spec is 0.5bar at idle and 0.25bar @ 2500rpm.

Are you saying it will run for hours using brake cleaner just to start it? Or using brake cleaner to keep it running?

If you have the tool to test, tandem pump pressure is min. 7.5bar @ 4000rpm for info.

Using brake cleaner just to start, Once it has started I can switch it off and it will restart and so far it as not failed to start on the key for the last two days. I really need it not to start so I can find out what is missing, Neil
