Intermittant engine cutting out after long journeys or time period elapsed eg. 150 miles or 2 months!!!!

Suspect that heavy rain makes fault worse (although we cannot verify this)??

Multipul fault lights on.... management / SRS airbag etc. etc.

If you cycle the key a few times to soft reset the systems on the vehicle the faults lights go out & the vehicle will run fine until the next time the gremlin wakes up from his nap!

Multipul fault codes of various sensors etc. etc.

Only consistent fault code relates to intermittant loss of CAN bus data in the powertrain module??
This fault replicates itself in almost every other ECM.

Checked all electrical connections to Engine ECM & checked wiring harness running under battery tray. replaced all suspect ribbon fuses on top of battery fusebox.
No signs of water ingress in Engine ECM harness or inside the vehicle wetting the convienience module or any other area for that matter!!

We are suspecting engine ECU internal failure!!!???

Imagine a gremlin pulling the CAN wires out of the Engine ECM multiplug harness just as you want to set off from a road junction.

The problem we will have under ECU testing is that they may not find a fault due to it's long intermittantcy.

Don't you just hate it when vehicles have intermittant symtpoms like this!
