VW Passat 2.0 2007 - Non start, VCDS MB help please - Fixed #

Engine Size and Code *: 2.0 - code unknown at present
( Optional) Fault Codes: None

Hi, I have this Passat in which is a non starter and I suspect an injector fault but need some help with VCDS Measuring Block 18 'Piezo unit injector status'
When cranking (block no. relates to cylinder no).
Block 1 = 0.0
Block 2 = 0.0
Block 3 = 2.0
Block 4 = 0.0
The pop up for this data says
002 = control while starting.
000 = No faults detected.

Could this be a short circuit in injector 3?

Could someone explain this please?

I understand that VW are replacing the injectors and loom FOC, is this correct?

Can't help with VCDS but in the past I've had a dtc (or similar) for injection control circuit A error.

I normally disconnect an injector 1 at a time and see if it will start then.

On the few I've changed it always happened to be number 3 injector as well.

I think you can ohms test from each pin to body of injector for a circuit. Should be open.

Hi, I'm waiting to hear back from Derek at Ilexa about MB info, no DTC's logged, cam and crank showing correctly when cranking.
If VW are going to pay for this I don't really want to start stripping it down yet but may have to and check for shorted or o/c injector as suggested.

I haven't seen a BKP engined Passat yet which hasn't logged a fault when an injector goes down.

Do you have a VIN for the vehicle so I can do some checking for you.

As Lee suggested disconnecting injectors one at a time then try and start always works for me.

Hi, zero fuel pressure at fuel filter from tank pump, fuel pump supply voltage present, scoped for current - none present, replaced fuel pump assembly in tank and fuel filter.
Pressure at filter when running about 0.5 bar.
