Good afternoon!
we have unfortunatly come across an awkward customer with an insignia, Awkward as in, we have diagnosed an ECU fault and the customer does not want to pay for a new unit so has gone down the route of supplying a "kit".
This i was not happy with so we made it clear in the beginning that we could not assist the customer with any decisions beyond that point, however we would fit what he supplies at his costs regardless if it works or not.
Customer agreed, so he turns up at our workshop on tuesday with a box of bits! thinking he has only half of whats actually needed! we told him of our suspicions but he insisted we proceed.. so we did, however we have a code stored saying the ABS is not tied into the immo...
Which brings me to the question, Does anyone actually know what is tied into the immo on this vehicle?
i am fully aware (and he has been informed) they may be reprocussions, but he is only interested in getting it running!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Not really any help but I always thought on the newer models almost all was tied into the immobiliser system including the abs module.
I'm sure I've read somewhere that on Insignias the a/c module is also paired to it but I may have imagined that.
I think even on the earlier Vectra C SRS module was tied into immobilise somehow.
Unless you can fit the 2nd hand ecu and read out the VIN number then apply for security code to reset it then code into car if you know the security code for his own car.
Not even sure if this can be done like on previous models.
